A awesome week :)

July keeps smiling for me =D and i just love it !!!

My hometown is celebrating its festivities on this month so Santa Ana is full of even more joy and good vibes at this moment !!
I can hear the fireworks from my window and everybody is out celebrating. Of course, I just came from the religious procession and then I headed out to eat some pupusas!! Yuuuummmiiii stuff indeed ;)

I have been also focused in my triathon training! Actually, we raced a fast-Tri today, which was a short distance but It does not mean that It gets easier !! We only swam 400m biked 10k and ran 3k , It was so fast that the acid lactic went up easily, leaving your body to the limit and super exhausted.

I felt pretty good even though i had a rough swim; however, I felt awesome whilst running !!!

Here are some pics of this awesome week!!

Thanks July !! (=

cheers

Le Tour De France 2013

This is one of the reasons why i love July !! My favourite sporting event takes place at this time of the year !!
How sad that the closing stage was today :( , my mornings wont be the same without the excitement and cycling fever the tour brings !!!

Needless to say, huge congrats to Chris Froome, I think the British hegemony shows up again this year. Watching Chris and the other riders going hard on their bikes gives me so much inspiration!!! How amazing can a human being be!!!! ...Nairo Quintana was another huge contender and I believe there is more yet to come from this Colombian hero!!

Yesterday, the city of Hamburg hosted the Triathlon World Cup Series as well; Great Britain showed again that they have the highest level regarding this discipline. Jonathan Brownlee was crowned world champion.
This guy is impressive !!

Juli/July/Julio 2013

Hei mine venner!! Hvordan Går det?? jejeje I hope you remember that !! ;)

July is going by on a blink of an eye, seriously!! I am exactly 3 weeks away from my birthday and I dont even feel time, weird isnt it?

I think this month has been the best one so far throughout 2013; I know there are still 5 months left and i just hope they are as bright as July. Regarding academics, I just started o work on a research project, which i will adress political transformations and violence matters; I will talk more about it as long as the process gets farther, though.

On the other hand, I am so pleased with my first place in todays race, I honestly did not see this coming!! I always tell myself  "As long as you are doing what makes you happy, then nothing else matters " :) Sometimes I cannot acknowledge the fact that there are some things you really need to do in order to feel complete and hence, happy. I know it sounds weird but some addictions can be actually good!!

I remember whilst being sick ( Dengue Hemorrágico) last year, I felt useless, crancky and depressed. However, I realised that being home alone isolated from the world all the time would make me feel nothing but worse. Jumping on the pool and swim would definetely change my mood; even though I would just swim 500 mts or grab my swimming table and do some kicking, It felt like heaven and it was more than enough to put a huge smile on my face!!

Whenever I feel sad or dissapointed, I just get my running shoes and head outside to clear my mind; somehow, sport has played a huge role on my life and at this point, It has become an addiction no matter what. Regardless the situation, there is always room for a small swim, a jog or a bike ride filled out with lots of laughter and good chats with friends.

I was quite fortunate to fall into the triathlon enviroment and I feel so grateful to that , I have learnt so much and it has given me so much delight all these years!!

Cheers :)

Un paso más !!

Hola holaaaa my dear readers :) !!

Okey ... So right now I feel really tired; my arms feel super duper hiper sored after a killer swimming set . Swimming 3.5k after a month away from the pool felt brutal !! OMG I cannot even lift my arms :( However, tiredness is a good thing since you know your workout has kicked in :)
Perhaps some of you guys are wondering what has been going on with my life at this point. Needless to say, I am feeling really happy since I finally graduated :) Yesss.... hurrrrraaaaa !!! I cannot believe I am done with school, I am so grateful to God, my super parents and friends that were always looking after me; they believed in my capacity and encouraged me to keep on going throughout those 5 undergrad years. Seriousluy, thank you ... :)  :) :)

I had been doing a lot of running since May as well, however,  I learnt that sometimes you have to stop when your body says no. Sadly, I had to pull away for 3 weeks due to a knee injury :( It was so frustrating because I was feeling my fitness was coming back again but too much effort might turn out  into harming your own body (on my case, my knee was suffering too much and I could not even make a single stride =(  ..  ). Due to this situation, I decided to stop and rest for 3 weeks... Sometimes a rest suits up nicely to your body but I am so restless that i wanted to give my knee a fresh go on mid June, so I decided  I would just jog for 30  mins until i realised my knee was actually healing :).

My biggest feat came last Saturday, though !! My friends and I put our running shoes on and  headed to Carretera Panamericana to complete 26km, which has been the longest run I have ever made in my entire life!! I was happy my knee did not suffer and I could hang in with the guys almost the entire course :D . I got dropped on the last 5 k since the pace was lifted, but still, I was thrilled to have finished! I was unable to walk comfortably  for 2 days after such a long run but I am just thankful  I am able to do what I love and to have such wonderful training partners whom I can share my love for sports with =D

Apart from that report, I wanted to share that July seems to be a very exciting month !! I have no words to describe how much fun I had yesterday on the 4th of July celebration. I t was an honour to be part of it and I cannot believe I was in Yellowstone National Park exactly 2 years ago... How crazy huh!! I am so lucky and grateful to all the opportunities life has given to me and I personally feel really attached to such a wonderful Nation that was my home throughout one year. Living and studying in the United States was really special indeed!! Finally, I just wanted to highlight that I am planning to compete in a triathlon within 10 days... I have no idea of how It is going to go but I am so pleased I can do what I enjoy, makes me happy and keeps me healthy (as long as I dont fall off my bike nor have a flat tire, I´ll be pleased !!) so wish me luck !! :D

A quick note: I hope everyone is watching the Tour of France ;) Regardless your sporting fever, you MUST follow every stage of it jejeje.. My favourite guys are Edvald Boasson Hagen of course (sigh sigh sigh jajaja ), Marcel Kitel and Mark Cavendish !! I am sure these 2 weeks will be more than exciting !! :D

Here are a few pictures from the past few months
