Un paso más !!

Hola holaaaa my dear readers :) !!

Okey ... So right now I feel really tired; my arms feel super duper hiper sored after a killer swimming set . Swimming 3.5k after a month away from the pool felt brutal !! OMG I cannot even lift my arms :( However, tiredness is a good thing since you know your workout has kicked in :)
Perhaps some of you guys are wondering what has been going on with my life at this point. Needless to say, I am feeling really happy since I finally graduated :) Yesss.... hurrrrraaaaa !!! I cannot believe I am done with school, I am so grateful to God, my super parents and friends that were always looking after me; they believed in my capacity and encouraged me to keep on going throughout those 5 undergrad years. Seriousluy, thank you ... :)  :) :)

I had been doing a lot of running since May as well, however,  I learnt that sometimes you have to stop when your body says no. Sadly, I had to pull away for 3 weeks due to a knee injury :( It was so frustrating because I was feeling my fitness was coming back again but too much effort might turn out  into harming your own body (on my case, my knee was suffering too much and I could not even make a single stride =(  ..  ). Due to this situation, I decided to stop and rest for 3 weeks... Sometimes a rest suits up nicely to your body but I am so restless that i wanted to give my knee a fresh go on mid June, so I decided  I would just jog for 30  mins until i realised my knee was actually healing :).

My biggest feat came last Saturday, though !! My friends and I put our running shoes on and  headed to Carretera Panamericana to complete 26km, which has been the longest run I have ever made in my entire life!! I was happy my knee did not suffer and I could hang in with the guys almost the entire course :D . I got dropped on the last 5 k since the pace was lifted, but still, I was thrilled to have finished! I was unable to walk comfortably  for 2 days after such a long run but I am just thankful  I am able to do what I love and to have such wonderful training partners whom I can share my love for sports with =D

Apart from that report, I wanted to share that July seems to be a very exciting month !! I have no words to describe how much fun I had yesterday on the 4th of July celebration. I t was an honour to be part of it and I cannot believe I was in Yellowstone National Park exactly 2 years ago... How crazy huh!! I am so lucky and grateful to all the opportunities life has given to me and I personally feel really attached to such a wonderful Nation that was my home throughout one year. Living and studying in the United States was really special indeed!! Finally, I just wanted to highlight that I am planning to compete in a triathlon within 10 days... I have no idea of how It is going to go but I am so pleased I can do what I enjoy, makes me happy and keeps me healthy (as long as I dont fall off my bike nor have a flat tire, I´ll be pleased !!) so wish me luck !! :D

A quick note: I hope everyone is watching the Tour of France ;) Regardless your sporting fever, you MUST follow every stage of it jejeje.. My favourite guys are Edvald Boasson Hagen of course (sigh sigh sigh jajaja ), Marcel Kitel and Mark Cavendish !! I am sure these 2 weeks will be more than exciting !! :D

Here are a few pictures from the past few months

Mitt første post i fremmedspråk :D

I am super nervous i am finally doing this!! So, since i love languages, I have been giving a shot to one of my favourite ones. Languages spoken in Scandinavia are super interesting and beautiful to me (clarifying that i am not saying that other languages are bad nor ugly because all languages are beautiful in their own way ). Therefore, I decided that I want to try something like Norwegian!! I know i am far out from learning it unless I move to a Nordic country ajajaja, but at least, I want to learn to start putting words together and build sentences. It is hard but somehow I think I am doing pretty well, at least regarding the basics and greetings jajaja
So I will try to write something and tons of apologises if I am mispelling a word or something sounds non-understandable!!

Hei mine venner!!

Okey!! This took me a while but It´s def worth trying ! Hopefully, someday I will improve my Norwegian skills ahead in the future :) jajajaja

Tussen Takk for leser mine blog!! :)

Life´s Beautiful ...

Huge Greetings to my followers!!!

I know its been a while since I last posted :( I apologise for that, seriously, a lot has been going on these last 2 months. First of all, I happily say that I finished my first competitive triathlon 2 weeks ago. I cant believe I had the strenght to get out there and race again :) . I had been constantly training for the last two months so I knew I had to do a good performance. Here you have some of the highlights.
The race took place in Lago de Coatepeque, which is one of my favourite spots in the world, I knew I had been swimming  a lot since March so i figured i was going to have no issues when starting the race even though open water swimming courses are very difficult and annoying, specially in the first 300 mts.The horn went off and the chaos started !!I knew I was going to suffer the first  200 mts because It gets really rough and everyone is punching, kicking, and splashing!!
I was near to cross the first buoy when some nasty swimmer just pushed me in and swam above me :( I was literally drowning and my swimming googles came off :( ; I felt so angry since I was trying to get my way out of the chaos and find some clear spots in order to pass the slower swimmers . After struggling for like 2 mins, I managed to get my googles back on place and continued swimming. I worked my way back and I suddenly detected one of my teammates´s feet , then, I just positioned myself behind him so he could pull me and bring me back to one of the packs in front of us.  We finally caught the pack and got out of the water,  grabbed my bike, which was the most painful part of that race. I literelly could not move forward, my legs felt empty and I could not respond to the other 2 girls´breakaways, It was a 4k hill and it turned endless for me, therefore, I could not catch any wheel :(.
I ended up riding solo the entire race and just gave my all in the run. I was feeling pretty good on the run but those girls just rocked their bikes!!!  However, I always tell myself that the race never finishes until you cross the finish line, so I just ran as fast as i could and  finished on the 3rd slot :)  I was so pleased and  full of joy whilst crossing that line that I couldnt ask for more!!! :D I believe i did a good job and that´s what counts for me!!!
I am looking forward to improving  my performance the next race. I know I have to adjust myself to do races again but I feel so grateful that i can  I still can achieve my sporting goals even though I dont race on an elite level anymore. Triathlon is such an important part of my life that It is hard not to practice it . So you (my readers) should give it a go too, just saying jejeje !! :D
On another note, June is almost here, which means that my graduation ceremony is closer than ever :D!!!!! Also, I am so grateful to be an active member of the US Dept. of State alumni; all the activities i have been involved throughout this year have been so valuable and I have to thank everybody who puts his/her confidence on myself. I have had so much fun and learnt a lot in all the events  the US Embassy in El Salvador hosts and I have taken part into, I believe these are opportunities and door openings for  Salvadoran youth  For example, their educational programs, scholarships, conferences regarding human rights and development, so valuable experiences I am so grateful for!!!!
One of the events I enjoyed the most was the earth´s day, when we headed to the beach to clean our shoreline and release turtles!!! Likewise, I am applying for jobs and internships so we will see what happens in the near future. Since I still have the idea of getting my masters, I have applied for a masters degree abroad and I am so happy to learn that 3 UK universities have extended me their offers (Uni of Leeds, Uni of Glasgow and Uni of West of England), nonetheless, I have not found scholarships, which is quite depressing (Bummer ) but It´s okey,I  wont give up jejeje !!! Anyways, I have tons of short/long-term plans and I have no clue whether they will work or not, however, I cannot wait to see what this year will be like yet  I am really thankful to be learning and having wonderful experiences !!
" Keep Smiling and do not stop trying " Thats what  I always say  :)
Post later

Año nuevo y nuevas expectativas!! New Year / New expectations

February is here already! Wow!! I am far to believe it! I remember my parents saying how fast time flew by when they were my age. When I was in elementary school I would laugh about this statement but now I realise they are soooo damnnn right!! I think I am getting old jajaja . Years come and go in a blink of an eye now!!!
Anyways, for some reason I am really excited for this year even though I dont have a certain plan. Last year I finished Uni and I have been practically in holidays since December :) jajajaja It was so nice to have some of my relatives come over our place and spend a wonderful Christmas and NYE. Lots of partying and traveling within this wonderful land :)

I had the best 2012 farewell i think! In December, I took part in the cycling National Championships and I took 3rd place, which I was so happy about!! I had been training for 2 weeks and our team decided to participate. The Female division had to complete a total of 65km and ended up climbing San Salvador famous 4k hill called "La Gloria" , which was a Complete Pain!! jaja  I was really nervous since I knew I had not taken part in a cycling race since 2009, so I did not know what to expect at all. As long as we started the pace was really fast and everybody was breaking away in each kilometer; as a result, I got dropped from the pack and had to ride solo for nearly 5km. It was a complete suffering because of the heat and the hilly course. However, for some reason, I started to feel better and I caught one of the cycling team girls.I could tell she was struggling so much and  I dropped her out as fast as I could, and kept up a solid pace, which led me to catch my teammate, Michelle. We worked out together throughout the rest of the course and caught a couple of guys that pulled us up ;)  .It felt awesome to be behind their wheels for a while jejeje  Though as soon as we got to the massive final hill, I couldnt stay with the guys because the pace was lifted. Michelle was dropped as well and I ended up 20 secs behind her. We earned 2nd and 3rd spot, which was an awesome result (=    After that, I decided to give sport a rest for some time!!

So what am I up to right now? I started my triathlon training 3 weeks ago and I am certainly enjoying it!!My teammates are so much fun and they help me up if i am struggling!! I feel fit and energetic again! Apart from sport, I am also colaborating with the American Embassy in San Salvador and I enjoy every minute working with them :) I am so grateful to have this opportunity!!! (= Also, I want to spend as much time as possible with my parents throughout this year!!
Here I leave some pictures of my adventures :))

Alright too much pictures for now :D

cheers

Touring my land :D

These November has been a pretty nice month for me! My graduation seems a reality day to day and even though I will have to wait until next year. I can openly say that I can consider myself a Graduate :) !!! My final project has finally been aproved so I just have to do small arrangements on it such as the format, fonts, etc. Other than that, there´s nothing else to do but just wait ultil  the ceremony !!!Wujuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! (= Couldnt be happier jejejeje ... Regarding my health, I am doing better everyday, I feel now strong and healthy! I am back to my triatlon training and It feels good to end up my days exhausted and  anxious to go to bed at 9pm jajajaja

So last Sunday (exactly a week ago), some of my triatlon friends invited me to a hike; we headed up to Santa Ana Volcano or "Ilamatepec" (which is its indigenous name). For the ones who have never been there, I highly recomend to give it a try, It is sooooooooooo worth it once you make it to the summit =) . It was a 12 km hike , the starting point was at Cerro Verde National Park, which is one of the most beautiful spots of El Salvador, then you start walking uphill through very changing trails that take you to the most amazing views of the Salvadoran landscape such as Izalco Volcano, Cerro Verde, Coatepeque Lake and you can even see the ocean shoreline (once you are in the top). I have always been so proud of my country and its beauties; however, I wish i could explore more of its marvels. So If you, all the ones who get to read this, wish to visit this amazing country, just do it so, you wont regret (i promise). Just remember to be careful and have an organised schedule!! It´s so cool that you can do so many stuff in just one day. For example, hike up a volcano, get down to the sea level and do some surf , aaaand party all night in San Salvador !!
Seriously, these trips remind me to all my Montana hikes (minus the snow and the grizzlies of course jejeje), sooooo stunning indeed !!

Finally, I can only say that nothing is really new, things are going smoothly and I just cannot wait for 2012 to end. There are some aims that i have for next year yet i have no clue whether they will work out or not. I will be sharing further experiences later !!!

I hope everybody enjoyed the weekend (= Cheers !!

Here I leave some pictures of my trip, I hope you like them :)
